The products 'Agrobiogel' and 'Retentis' are both biological hydrogels based on the lignin technology of AgroBiogel GmbH. The two brands are used in different target crops.
- 02
It increases water and nutrient storage capacity, soil organic matter and fertility. During dry periods or with reduced irrigation, the gel provides an homogeneous water supply, reducing plant stress and ensuring healthy growth.
- 03
Universally applicable, suitable for all annual and perennial crops, in all types of soil, in pots and in beds. Also highly suitable for grave plantings. - 06
Yes, Retentis® can be mixed with fertilizers. By using Retentis®, fertilization can be reduced, but not completely replaced.
- 07
Retentis® improves soil structure, organic matter, permeability and nutrient availability for plants. Its long-term use can improve soil fertility and increase crop yields.
- 08
Retentis® remains active for up to 5 years in the soil. It slowly degrades into humus.
- 09
Retentis® stores and slowly releases water to the plants thereby improving water use efficiency by plants. It also helps prevent water runoff and promotes better water distribution in the soil.
- 10
No, Retentis® is designed to release water slowly and prevent excessive moisture buildup. When used correctly, it does not cause root rot.

• In pots, 10g-20g (dry) per 1 liter of substrate
• New plantings of special crops (e.g. wine, fruit):100 – 200g per plant
• Vegetables: 250 – 500g/m²; worked into the ground (approx. 10cm deep)
• Substrate mixtures: 10g – 40g per liter of substrate
• Lawn and ornamental plants: 250 – 500 g/m²; worked into the ground (approx. 10cm)

Retentis® was developed specifically for use on new plantings. However, we are working on developing a solution that enables the use of Retentis® on already established plantings
- 15
Retentis® does not alter the composition of the water. It stores water and slowly releases it to the plants as needed.
- 16
Mix the Retentis® dry granulate with the substrate and incorporate it, approx. 5-10 cm below the surface close to the roots of plants or were the roots grow into. Direct application to the surface is not recommended. After potting the plants or incorporating Retentis®, the substrate must be watered sufficiently well to activate the gel.
